You can help the Noah Project in a number of ways: DONATIONS: The Noah Project is a non-profit organisation that relies on
donations from the public. Cheques payable to The Noah Project can be sent to The Noah Project, PO BOX 1828, London W10 5RT - please do not send cash in the post. In keeping with Jewish teaching we give around 10% of
our annual proceeds to environmental tzedakah projects.
TIME:
The Noah Project runs a number of events that require much preparation time. We're a very friendly bunch of people who are always open to receiving more help - please contact us and let us know your talents!
REDUCING WASTE:
The UK has one of the poorest recycling records in Europe. See if you can find the closest recycling centre to your house or workplace to find out what you can recycle - most places take aluminium, glass, paper and cardboard. By separating out your waste, you help reduce incineration and landfill sites. Also try to buy products that do not include waste packaging. In so doing, you send a powerful message to the manufacturers to reduce waste. With this in mind, hold onto your plastic shopping bags and re-use them when you next shop. Some stores even give you a penny per re-used bag, which you are encouraged to put in the charity box. While some electricity use is necessary, try to use energy-saving lightbulbs (which ultimately save you money) and try to turn off lights when you're planning on leaving a room for more than a few minutes.
TRAVEL:
While many people love to knock the British public transport system, it is a fairly environmentally sound method of transport. Try to investigate trains, buses and trams in your area (for London Transport call 020 7222 1234). With the Cycle Network now improved, cycling is safer than before and is of course an excellent mode of transport for you and the environment.
LOCAL CAUSES: Is there an environmental issue in your area? Try to contact your local council to see how you can get involved.
